PHILOSOPHY
We love movies, shows, and above all, trailers. We're independently minded and laser-focused on two things: the creative, and our relationships with our clients. Take care of those, and everything else follows.
MISSION
A boutique trailer agency led by creative director and lead editor me, Joe Vallero. I have worked at every level of the agency world, cutting trailers for major studios, broadcast networks, and the various streamers. But throughout my career, a thread has always run alongside that work… crafting trailers for independent filmmakers and independent distributors. Those relationships have consistently been the most rewarding of my career. Kaski Lane exists to grow that, bringing studio-level craft to films and distributors of every size. With connections throughout the industry I can call on close friends for anything from a 5.1 mix to intricate 3D graphics. If you can dream it we can create it.
Why Kaski Lane?
Growing up, I spent most weekends at my grandparents' house on Kaski Lane. A home my grandfather designed and built with his own two hands, one 2x4 at a time. That house is where my grandparents raised six kids and throughout the years hosted and cared for a family that grew to include many, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, many dogs, cats and even chickens. I was always excited to go to grandma’s because she loved to bake and almost always had fresh baked cookies. Kaski Lane Creative is built from that tradition, one client at a time, with the same care… and we even provide cookies sometimes too.
Editor / Creative Director - Joe Vallero
I began my career at an independent film distribution company, moving quickly from answering phones to working on set and eventually becoming the in-house staff editor. That's where I learned the craft of storytelling, in the edit bay cutting feature films, documentaries, and many, many trailers.
As my career progressed, I moved into the agency world, working on creative content, behind-the-scenes docs, and TV spots, but the form I loved most was always trailers. As a trailer editor, I had the opportunity to work with all the major studios and streamers, eventually rising to lead editor and producer. There's nothing quite like the thrill of getting the finish on a trailer and sitting in a theater, watching your trailer play on the big screen.
But working with independent filmmakers and distributors has been a part of my career from day one, and it never stopped being a cornerstone of it. It's a unique space with unique needs, because indie film at its core is all about passion. Passion from the filmmakers who sacrifice time and financial gain to bring their vision to life, and passion from the distributors who believe in a story enough to launch it into the world. That passion is something I love being part of.
